This Updating Course on Basic Training – Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (BT-PSSR) equips seafarers with updated competencies aligned with the STCW Convention, as amended, specifically Table A-VI/1-4. In line with MSC Resolution 560 (108), this course ensures that participants maintain essential safety and social responsibility skills. The course is delivered entirely through asynchronous e-learning. Theory is covered via self-paced LMS modules, and practical skills are assessed remotely through structured tasks and submitted evidence. The entire eight-hour course complies with MARINA Memorandum Circular No. SC-2021-10 and our Quality Standards System. This Management Level Course for Marine Engineer Officers (Function 1) covers the mandatory minimum requirement for approved education and training as provided for under Regulation III/2 of the STCW Convention, 1978, as amended for chief engineers and second engineers on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 3,000 kW propulsion or more; and to meet the minimum standard of competence specified in Section A-III/2 of the STCW Code under Function: Marine Engineering at the Management Level.
